Role overview
We’re hiring an Onboarding Specialist to own complex, multi-month customer implementations from kickoff to go-live. This role is project-management heavy: you’ll derisk programs, coordinate stakeholders across functions, manage timelines and dependencies, and ensure clients successfully adopt Aktos.
What you’ll do
- Own 3+ month onboarding programs end-to-end — create and run project plans, track milestones, and remove blockers to keep implementations on time
- Lead stakeholder management — map sponsors, align cross-functional stakeholders, run steering calls, and negotiate scope/timing tradeoffs
- Proactively derisk implementations — maintain risk registers, define gating criteria, escalate appropriately, and keep executive stakeholders informed
- Diagnose technical and product blockers — analyze data mismatches, product configuration gaps, integration issues, and propose pragmatic fixes
- Collaborate with product & engineering — surface recurring issues, document patterns, and recommend product improvements to reduce future onboarding effort
- Standardize and scale onboarding — create playbooks, runbooks, templates, and internal documentation to speed up future implementations
- Communicate clearly with clients — set expectations, guide them through setup, and resolve questions efficiently
- (Bonus) Perform light technical work — data imports, SQL lookups, API checks, test configurations, and validation of integrations
Who this role is for (Ideal backgrounds)
We’re explicitly looking for people who have led long, complex onboarding programs (3+ months) where project management, stakeholder management, and derisking were the day-to-day work. Typical backgrounds we love include:
- Implementation/Professional Services at an enterprise SaaS vendor (ERP, CRM, HRIS, billing/collections) — titles like Implementation Manager, Senior Onboarding Specialist, Professional Services Consultant, or Technical Project Manager (Onboarding)
- Customer Success/Onboarding leads at companies that deliver 3–6 month deployments (examples: NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, Oracle NetSuite, Zendesk/Support Enterprise, HubSpot Enterprise)
- Project managers or consultants who managed customer rollouts at payroll/benefits, billing platforms, or other regulated vertical SaaS with complex integrations and data migrations
- People from consulting practices or systems integrators who ran scoping, SOWs, and cross-functional delivery for multi-stakeholder clients
If you’ve had titles like Implementation Manager, Professional Services Manager, Customer Onboarding Manager, Technical Project Manager — Implementation, or Senior Onboarding Specialist and you’ve driven multi-month, enterprise-style implementations, you’ll fit well.
What you’ll need
- 1–3 years experience in SaaS onboarding, implementation, or project management — must include ownership of 3+ month onboarding programs or equivalent enterprise engagements
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills — project plans, risk registers, gating, escalation, and executive reporting
- Basic SQL and Excel skills (able to run lookups and validate data); comfort with light technical troubleshooting
- Strong written and spoken English communication
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Comfortable working across time zones in a fast-paced startup
- Bonus: experience with customer data migrations, APIs, Postman, Zapier or other workflow automation tools
Compensation
Competitive salary based on experience: $40K–$60K USD / year (some flexibility for exceptional candidates)
