Your opportunity

As a Product Engineer at Scandit, you will collaborate with the product squad to evaluate and expand our solution capabilities, utilizing multi-barcode reading, tracking, and augmented reality. You will partner closely across the software engineering and product teams in an effort to develop new products and features, as well as continuously optimize our existing products.

While working at the intersection of business and technology, you’ll ensure product performance and user experience to solve our customers' challenges. Based on a hypothesis-driven discovery approach with direct customer feedback, you’ll collect data and evidence to understand the challenges and product requirements in detail.

Responsibilities of a Product Engineer include working with customers to understand their needs, building proof of concepts, and evaluating the technical performance of existing products to guarantee the data capture quality and performance on an enterprise-grade level at every stage of the development cycle. 

As an ideal candidate, you have initial programming experience, and you are interested in building functional prototypes and test setups with a strong focus on the user and customer needs. You’re data-driven and strive for a fast-paced evaluation. Communicating with technical or business stakeholders is part of your interests, as well as discussing product specifications with the wider product team. 

• Work closely together with engineering and the wider product team to define product quality metrics of prototypes and products
• Build test systems for measuring the quality and performance of new product features or improvements
• Evaluate and drive the analysis of customer feedback and requests

Who we look for

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 1+ years of industry experience. 
• Strong customer focus and problem-solving skills.
• Programming experience at an engineering level.
• Interest in working on the intersection of engineering and business.
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
• Eligible to work in Switzerland and available to work at our Zurich office.
