Job Summary:
We are seeking a Product Designer who will play a pivotal role in designing user-centered solutions for our autonomous surface vessels and related systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and DoD stakeholders, to create intuitive, functional, and aesthetically compelling designs.
From early-stage concepts to final product iterations, you will ensure that the design vision aligns with both user needs and technical requirements. This role is ideal for a versatile designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about working on impactful, high-tech projects.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to the overall direction and decision-making for product and design strategy
Own all aspects of design execution from discovery, ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation
Use storytelling to align and bring stakeholders along in your design process
Play an influential role in shaping the end-to-end experiences for critical operator workflows
Maintain a high bar for craft-driving novel experiences at the edge, and bring back the results to evolve the underlying platform experience
Balance short-term tactical bets while making meaningful progress toward long-term strategic pursuits
Help to shape our ways of working as a centralized product design function operating in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications:
6+ years of industry experience
High attention to detail and mastery of visual & interaction design craft
Online portfolio demonstrating multimodal experiences
Ability to clearly articulate the why, process, and impact of your work
No prior defense experience necessary
