Product Designer (UI/UX)

AI overview

Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design intuitive workflows and experiences while ensuring seamless implementation with a focus on product clarity and excellence.

About Rumor

Rumor is a high-touch events and guest-list platform built for brands, creators, and cultural leaders. We design tools that bring clarity and structure to complex, fast-moving event workflows—while maintaining a premium, polished aesthetic across web and mobile.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a mid-level Product Designer who can both ideate new workflows and own execution in Figma. This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Operations and plays a critical part in translating ideas into scalable, usable experiences.

You will also serve as the primary design point of contact for engineers, ensuring design intent is clear, components are consistent, and implementation stays aligned with the product vision.

Responsibilities

Product & UX Design

  • Ideate, design, and propose new product workflows from concept through execution
  • Translate product requirements into user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI
  • Design intuitive experiences that account for real operational constraints and edge cases
  • Think holistically about UX across desktop and mobile

Design Systems & Engineering Collaboration

  • Serve as the main point of contact for engineering questions related to design
  • Own and maintain the design component library in Figma, ensuring it stays current
  • Proactively communicate design system updates and changes to the development team
  • Partner closely with engineers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently

Execution & Process

  • Ensure the correct Linear tickets are linked to designs and kept up to date
  • Maintain clean, well-organized Figma files that support smooth handoff
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback from Product, Engineering, and Operations

Business & Marketing Design Support (as needed)

  • Support light design needs for business and marketing materials when required
  • This may include items such as pitch decks, website edits, or internal-facing assets
  • Maintain visual consistency with Rumor’s product and brand standards

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in Figma (components, auto-layout, variants, prototyping)
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end workflows, not just isolated screens
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, startup environment with evolving requirements
  • Strong communication skills and confidence collaborating cross-functionally

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing B2B, marketplace, or operational tools
  • Experience in events, hospitality, creator, or lifestyle platforms
  • Familiarity with Linear, Jira, or similar product tracking tools

What Success Looks Like

  • Engineers rely on you as the go-to resource for design clarification
  • The design system is consistent, current, and easy for devs to implement
  • Product workflows feel intuitive, scalable, and thoughtfully designed
  • Design handoff is clean, organized, and rarely requires rework
  • The product—and supporting materials—feel cohesive, polished, and premium
