Product Designer

Location: Toronto, Canada (Hybrid — onsite 2–3 days/week)

Reports to: Director of Product

Team: Product

We’re a venture-backed Series A company in a hot space, growing fast, with money in the bank. Limina AI is hiring a Product Designer to serve as the leader of our User Experience for a leading AI and data platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on owning end-to-end design — from building a best-in-class design system from the ground up, to shaping product strategy and crafting experiences across key initiatives.

The ideal candidate knows how to sit across from a client who can’t articulate what they need, synthesize that ambiguity into a vision they couldn’t see themselves, and then make it real. This role spans the full product lifecycle — from discovery and hypothesis validation through to delivery. The ideal candidate moves fluidly between research synthesis, rapid prototyping, design systems, and stakeholder conversations. They don’t wait to be told what to make — they take ownership, figure out what needs to exist, and then they make it happen.

This role is not about making things pretty; it’s about making complex systems feel effortlessly simple.

This role is ideal for someone with early-stage software experience who understands the pace and demands of a startup environment, and who wants to grow alongside a company building at the frontier of AI.

What you’ll own:

Own end-to-end design

  • Lead the full UX design process — from discovery and concept through to final implementation — ensuring a seamless, intuitive user experience at every stage.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs that effectively communicate concepts, interactions, and end-to-end journeys.
  • Own and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and quality across the product.

Drive research and discovery

  • Participate in product discovery to understand user needs, business goals, and constraints.
  • Plan and conduct user research and usability testing to understand user behaviors, validate ideas, and synthesize findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Identify opportunities and solve functional challenges through brainstorming, ideation, and collaborative design.

Collaborate and communicate

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to align on business objectives and technical requirements, providing design guidance throughout the development process.
  • Defend design decisions with clarity and conviction — articulating the reasoning behind your choices and advocating for the user — while remaining genuinely open to feedback and willing to iterate when it improves the outcome.
  • Stay current with design best practices, emerging tools, and industry trends to continuously raise the bar.

Who You Are

  • You have 3–5 years of experience in product design, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership, thoughtful problem-solving, and measurable impact.
  • You have a solid grounding in UX fundamentals: interaction design, visual design, content design, accessibility, and usability.
  • You think in systems — you can translate abstract or technically complex behavior into intuitive, human-centered experiences.
  • Youve worked in agile product teams across the full spectrum from discovery to delivery.
  • Youre proficient in Figma for design and prototyping.
  • Youre based in Toronto and willing to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
  • You already use AI tools to accelerate your work — research, prototyping, automation, whatever gets the job done faster.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Experience building or maintaining a design system from scratch
  • Background in B2B or enterprise SaaS product design
  • Experience at an early-stage startup or lean product team where you wore multiple hats
  • Familiarity with data-heavy or technically complex product domains
