Product Designer

The Role:

Product Design is an integral part of how we build at Aiven. We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our growing team and help us keep our platform simple and accessible as we scale. We value creative thinkers who enjoy looking at technical challenges from fresh perspectives, what we call "thinking sideways." You’ll work alongside talented engineers and product managers to solve interesting problems, grow your skills, and help developers everywhere build better. If you’re a pragmatic designer who loves to learn and experiment, we’d love to have you on the team

What You'll Do:

• Lead with the right level of design for the right audience at the right time
• Prioritize UX Logic: Lead with high-level functional design, relying on our Design System for the UI layer.
• Design working prototypes in Figma based on our Design System 
• Collaborate closely with your fellow Product Designers, Product Managers, and developers to ensure consistency in our overall product user experience
• Be flexible and be comfortable with working in a dynamic environment that is continuously growing and changing
• Be pragmatic as you believe that continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection

What We're Looking For:

• You have a background  of 3+ years crafting user experience for complex B2B SaaS or PaaS products where logic takes precedence over aesthetics.
• You are highly tech-savvy and comfortable diving into the specifics of databases, streaming, and cloud infrastructure.
• You possess the proactive mindset required to set up internal testing sessions with our engineers to validate designs.
• You are a pragmatic problem-solver who can "think sideways" to find simple paths through rigid technical constraints.
• You demonstrate mastery in Figma and have a proven track record of working efficiently within a structured design system.
• You articulate complex design decisions in English to a global team of stakeholders.
