About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Product Design Director to lead the design vision for Orbit — OKX's social layer connecting traders, creators, and communities. Orbit brings together social trading, live streaming, KOL engagement, and community building into a unified experience within the OKX ecosystem. In this role, you will own the end-to-end design strategy for Orbit: from creator and KOL tooling, to community discovery, live stream interaction, and the social signals that connect traders across markets. You will define what a world-class social-trading experience looks like — culturally relevant across regions, deeply integrated with the exchange, and built for trust and engagement at scale. You will partner with product, growth, engineering, content, and compliance to shape a social platform that is differentiated, safe, and genuinely useful for both novice and experienced traders.
What You’ll Be Doing

Define and own the design vision for Orbit: Set the north star UX for social trading, live streaming, KOL/creator tools, community spaces, and the social feed — translating strategy into design roadmaps and measurable outcomes.

Lead design for high-impact social features: Ideate, prototype, test and iterate on experiences such as trade sharing, copy trading signals, live stream overlays, follower/following dynamics, community creation, and reputation systems.

Scale the Orbit design team: Recruit, mentor, and coach senior and mid-level designers. Build a high-performing team capable of shipping at social-product velocity across global markets.

Define performance frameworks: Establish accountability for measurable social and engagement outcomes — DAU/MAU, creator retention, stream viewership, community growth, and trade interaction rates.

Evolve design systems and interaction patterns: Support Orbit's fast-moving roadmap while maintaining coherence with the broader OKX design language.

Advocate for culturally-relevant design: Global social behaviour is not monolithic — optimize for local social norms, communication styles, KOL culture, and trust dynamics across a diverse set of markets.

Drive user research and community listening: Build qualitative and quantitative feedback loops with traders, KOLs, and community members to continuously improve the social experience.

Collaborate cross-functionally: Collaborate with product managers, growth, engineering, compliance, content, and marketing to ensure design decisions align with business, user, and regulatory goals.

Be the voice of design within the Orbit org: communicate strategic design value, elevate the craft bar, and influence senior leadership decisions.

Track and report on design impact: define and monitor KPIs aligned to creator acquisition, community engagement, social-driven trading volume, and platform trust.
What We Look For In You

10+ years of experience in product design, with significant time in design leadership and people management.

Demonstrated experience designing social platforms, creator tools, live streaming products, or community-driven applications — ideally at scale.

Deep familiarity with social dynamics, digital culture, and KOL/influencer ecosystems; prior experience preferred.

Experience designing for financial products — trading, fintech, or payments — a strong plus; ability to merge social UX with high-trust financial interaction is key.

Strong ability to hire, develop, and retain top design talent, fostering a culture of craft and accountability.

Data-literate: comfortable interpreting engagement analytics, A/B tests, social behaviour metrics, and funnel data; experience partnering with data/analytics teams.

Track record of shipping in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with multiple dependencies.

Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills: able to influence product, engineering, growth, and compliance stakeholders.

Strong communication and storytelling ability — can articulate design rationale to both design peers and senior business leadership.

Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, Communication Design, or equivalent experience.
