As the Product Design Director for Fintech you’ll shape the future of how businesses manage spend, pay with confidence, and earn value through one of the most generous rewards platforms in travel. You’ll guide the team building powerful tools for direct billing, insights, credit cards, and rewards, crafting experiences that feel fast, clear, and trustworthy. You’ll partner across the company to keep design at the center of a financial ecosystem that’s growing quickly and innovating even faster.

Designers at Engine are part of what we call the Big 4—the core team of product, design, engineering, and data that drive the roadmap and vision for their area. Together, you’ll shape strategy for your area and ship features that have immediate and lasting impact on the product.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Lead the design vision for spend management, billing, insights, credit cards, and rewards at Engine and elevate them into seamless, high-trust experiences.
• Mentor and inspire a talented team of 4-6 product designers while staying hands-on when the work needs your craft.
• Set a high bar for clarity, usability, and polish across the entire fintech product suite.
• Turn user needs and financial insights into intuitive flows that help customers stay in control and unlock meaningful value.
• Push the boundaries of what’s possible using AI-powered tooling including MCPs, Figma Make, Cursor, and other emerging systems that amplify speed and quality.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

• Mastery of the full product lifecycle, from shaping product strategy and guiding discovery to driving concepts and build-ready execution.
• Strong design craft across visual, interaction, and UX, with a focus on clarity, utility, delight, and people leadership in hiring, coaching, and elevating the team’s bar.
• Proven ability to align and influence PMs, engineers, data, and executives.
• Fluency in Figma, design systems, and emerging tools like Pencil / Cursor.
• Clear, compelling storytelling, able to communicate the strategic why, not just the design.
