Product Associate
TLDR
Support product development at the intersection of product, data, and operations while leveraging AI tools for faster execution and quality assurance.
60 Decibels is a tech-powered impact measurement company that makes it easy to listen to the people who matter most. We've been in business as an independent entity since early 2019, when we spun out of the global Impact Investor Acumen.
We believe that the best way to understand social impact is by talking to the people experiencing that impact. It sounds obvious when you say it, but that is not the typical practice for many impact investors, corporations and foundations working to create social change.
We collect social impact data directly from beneficiaries (customers / employees / suppliers) using our network of 1000+ trained research assistants in 75+ countries. We do it quickly and without the fuss typically associated with measuring social impact. Our research assistants speak directly to customers to understand their lived experience; and our team turns all this data into benchmarked social performance reports, with accompanying insights, to help our clients demonstrate and improve social performance.
By making impact measurement simple, scalable, and comparable, we not only enable organizations to improve their products and services; we also help transform what it means to credibly measure impact, ensuring that the voices of those who matter most are always part of the story.
We’re looking for a Product Associate to join the product team and work across our internal and external-facing products. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of product, data, and operations - you’ll help shape what we build and why, ensure the quality of what we ship, and bring rigour to how we use data to make decisions.
You'll work closely with the Head of Product and the Engineering team, getting deep into how our products work and why decisions get made. Early on, you'll own the execution - data quality, testing, ticket writing, and analysis - but the expectation is that you bring a point of view, not just output. Over time, you'll grow into owning product streams end-to-end: defining problems, driving decisions, and shaping what we build. We expect you to build and sharpen your product skillset quickly, and leverage AI tools in how you work and in what we ship to users.
What You’ll Do
- Write clear, well-scoped tickets and maintain a healthy backlog alongside the Head of Product - including helping shape the 'why' behind features, not just the spec.
- Run data extractions, quality checks, and analysis across product data sets - spotting issues before they reach users.
- Own QA and testing for features before release - you’re the last line of defence.
- Unblock developers by clarifying requirements, chasing down answers, and removing ambiguity.
- Help maintain product documentation and keep the team aligned on what’s shipped and what’s coming.
- Use AI tools (assistants, no-code platforms, automation) to move faster and fill gaps - we’ll support you in building this muscle.
- Synthesise user feedback, support tickets, and data to spot patterns and bring them to the product team with a point of view.
- Join customer calls and interviews, building your understanding of user needs and what problems are actually worth solving.
Over Time, You’ll Grow Into
- Owning a full product stream end-to-end
- Running customer/internal user discovery and synthesising feedback into product direction
- Contributing to roadmap and medium-term planning
- Prototyping features and flows with AI tools
- Collaborating closely with other 60dB teams and providing product guidance
- Supporting AI transformation initiatives across the business
Skills & Experience
- Confident working with data - spreadsheets, CSVs, basic SQL or willingness to learn. You can clean, cross-reference, and sense-check a data set without hand-holding.
- Comfortable with project or product management tools (eg Notion) or able to pick them up quickly.
- Enough technical literacy to follow a developer’s explanation of a bug without glazing over.
- You already use AI tools regularly and have a view on where they're genuinely useful vs. overhyped - you're not just experimenting, you're integrating.
How You Work
- You think about problems from the user's perspective first - you're naturally curious about why people do what they do, and what's getting in their way.
- You’re a detective. When something looks off - a number that doesn’t add up, a flow that feels wrong, a complaint from a user - you don’t just flag it and move on. You dig in, follow the thread, and figure out what’s actually going on.
- You’re conscientious and sweat the details - you care about getting it right, not just getting it done.
- You're comfortable with ambiguity - you can make a reasonable call without a perfect brief, and you'd rather iterate than wait for certainty.
- You’re tech-savvy and pick up new tools fast - a fast learner, and comfortable in technical environments.
- You communicate clearly in writing - docs, emails, Slack messages, tickets.
- You’re proactive and self-directed, you don’t wait to be told what to do next.
Why This Role
This is a chance to step into a product career with real ownership from day one, shaping what gets built and how. You'll learn product craft on the job, work with modern AI tools, and grow quickly in a role where your attention to detail and willingness to get stuck in matters.
We’re opening this role internally because the knowledge you’ve already built here - of our work, our users, and how the business operates - is genuinely hard to replicate. If you’ve been looking for a way to have more impact on what we build, this is it.
