 Position Overview:  

As the Procurement and Travel Manager at Diligent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our procurement function and travel-related activities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring cost-effective procurement, supplier relationship management, proposal analysis and evaluations, contract review and renewal support a. a and seamless travel arrangements for our employees. This position demands strong leadership and strategic thinking to ensure that Diligent can operate at the highest level and continue to scale 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Lead Diligent’s global travel and procurement teams (currently a team of 5) 
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with global travel and procurement policies 
  • Support the entire procurement lifecycle, including cross-functional need identification, requirement definition, vendor management, proposal analysis and evaluation, negotiations, contract review and redlining, implementation, and renewal support
  • Support and manage the procurement team through reporting monthly/quarterly analytics
  • Manage daily operations of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) system and other internal process control solutions including, but not limited to, development and implementation of training initiatives, end-user adoption, process creation, documentation and improvement, business reporting, system and process performance metrics management, and conflict resolution
  • Maintain relationships with the company’s Travel Management Company (TMC) as well as directly with travel providers (airlines, hotels, etc…)
  • Partner with FP&A to provide guidance to departments across the firm on cost and budget control through PO management.
  • Provide coaching to business owners and their delegates in relation to the practicalities of the tender process as well as the responsibilities of the business in the execution of same
  • Create a culture of cost efficiency, operational excellence, innovation, and simplification
  • Handle credit card programs 

Required Experience/Skills  

  • 5-7 years hands on strategic sourcing experience (contracting, negotiations, vendor management, etc.) 
  • Fluency with P2P processes and systems, knowledge of Coupa and Concur (or similar systems) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyse, spend and identify savings opportunities through vendor fragmentation and classification
  • Flexible, creative and ability to partner with multiple stakeholders through complex scenarios  
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a collaborative team environment
  • Organized, detail oriented
  • The capacity to think big picture and be future oriented when supporting the execution of the strategy 

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in supporting and providing analytical support with various professional service industries, IT and other spend categories a plus.
