The Preventative Maintenance Technician will inspect, repair, and maintain, associated plant equipment for the process and water treatment plants in line with achieving our performance objectives.
The Preventative Maintenance Technician is expected to be improvement oriented, giving oral and written feedback as necessary regarding current plant and asset performance, while giving recommendations on improvements to such processes and/ or assets.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Operational:
- Perform routine plant inspection, following predetermined standard job plans
- Make minor repairs and adjustments to plant assets during PM routes
- Perform minor pipe wrap repairs to process piping
- Troubleshoot conveyor systems
- Troubleshoot jaw and gyratory crushers
- Troubleshoot centrifugal slurry and ANSI water pumps
- Troubleshoot positive displacement rotary pumps
- Troubleshoot valve and piping issues
- Perform minor welding and fabrication tasks
- Perform minor carbon and stainless-steel pipe welding tasks
- Perform lazar alignments on direct drive and belt driving drive components.
- Assist Execution team when business needs require additional support to repair process and water treatment plant assets
- Other duties as required.
Safety:
- Ensures that all tasks comply with Company health and safety requirements and policies and procedures and strengthens the culture of safety in the workplace.
- Demonstrate safety awareness.
- Participate in safety meetings and site safety programs.
- Has significant experience of fixed equipment, crushing, grinding, milling plant, rotating equipment, and pressure vessels is useful
- 2-5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience
- Experience in Preventative Maintenance programs.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to write in a proficient/ legible manor
- Driver’s License
- 2 + Years exposure to heavy industries
- Exposure or good working knowledge of a mineral processing plant is useful
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Occasionally it may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
