Job Description

Are you a serious, direct and analytical person comfortable taking the lead? Do you consider yourself adept at working independently and do you prefer roles that benefit from the existence of a process to drive strong outcomes? Would people describe you as serious and highly reliable? Are you known for your ability to execute with a high degree of expediency and accuracy? 

As a team lead, the print production design manager will work alongside our print production design team and oversee the pre-flight process of various marketing materials. This is a player-coach role where workflow management is the norm, while you will have the opportunity to guide, mentor and prepare files with your team along the way.

The primary responsibility is ensuring that all products and experiences are of the highest quality while being delivered on time and within budget. This role collaborates with team members to brainstorm technical solutions and manage department details. Other duties involve managing deadlines and finalizing print jobs before they see production, following processes, and providing insight on potential technical or workflow changes. The print production design manager also ensures that their team has the resources and knowledge needed to be successful.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage workflow.
  • Organize day-to-day tasks to set the print production team up for success to ensure efficient operation and effective execution.
  • Use your knowledge of the print production process.
  • Provide quality assurance for print production designers.
  • Ensure the team is meeting critical production schedules.
  • Communicate clearly with internal team members to articulate the appropriate message.
  • Hold team members accountable and lead conversations about growth opportunities.
  • Implement problem-solving with urgency to find a resolution benefiting all involved.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the print/design industry while leading a team.
  • Baseline knowledge of pre-flighting client-created files.
  • Possesses good leadership, people, and project management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders successfully.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Experience with project management systems is a bonus.
