Principal Solutions Architect

Overview:

We are in search of a Principal Solutions Architect to join our dynamic team. In this strategic role, you may be focused on the solutions side, where you will lead the design and implementation of advanced solutions that drive our client's technology evolution, working with various departments to understand their needs and develop systems that improve efficiency and customer experience. On the other hand, you can also be focused on the platform side, where you will lead the development and evolution of core technology platforms that underpin enterprise-wide services. You will ensure that the platforms are scalable, resilient, and provide the necessary foundation to support current and future business initiatives.You will be instrumental in crafting scalable and secure architectures that meet complex business needs while ensuring high performance and reliability. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, technical leadership, and a keen focus on transforming business objectives into technical solutions. You will guide the architectural vision and be a key player in stakeholder engagement.

What are we looking for?

• At least 8 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture and design, in the retail industry;
• Knowledge of TOGAF or similar and experience in applying these frameworks to real-world projects;
• Knowledge of different solution modelling languages such as UML, ArchiMate, and C4;
• Proficiency in backend development languages, database technologies, frontend development languages (e.g. TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS), and technology architecture (e.g. integration, network, and security);
• Proficient in AWS or Azure, with experience in designing and deploying cloud-based solutions;
• Strong understanding of security practices, data protection, and regulatory compliance;
• Understanding of application development methodologies, infrastructure, and network architecture;
• Experience in programming, software development, DevOps, CI/CD, and containerisation;
• Knowledge of integration solutions and API management;
• Experience in developing enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring architectural resilience and compliance;
• Ability to understand the "big picture", the long-term target state, and short-term needs;
• Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of modern technologies;
• Proficiency in translating future-state business capabilities and requirements into solution architecture requirements.
