This role sits within Deel’s Global Payroll product group and focuses on fintech connectivity between payroll operations and fintech systems. You will work on products that enable accurate, transparent and scalable money movement by preparing and connecting global payroll data, to fintech processes all around the world.
Payroll Fintech Connectivity is responsible for the financial orchestration layer that sits between payroll engines, invoicing systems and payments infrastructure. This includes how payroll data is exposed, enriched and consumed to support complex funding flows, invoice adjustments, reconciliations and real-time visibility for internal teams and customers.
This is a Principal Product Manager role operating in a highly cross-functional environment. You will work closely with engineering, design, payroll operations, payments, finance and other product teams to build robust connectivity that reduces operational friction and improves trust in payroll and payments outcomes.
Deep payroll or payments expertise is not required on day one. Strong product fundamentals, sound judgement and the ability to work across complex systems and stakeholders are far more important.
Core payroll-to-payments connectivity and financial orchestration capabilities
How payroll data is exposed and structured for granular invoicing, funding and downstream consumption
Product workflows that support accurate payroll costs, adjustments and reconciliations
Enabling end-to-end visibility from payroll events through to payouts
Cross-product initiatives that improve quality, reliability and transparency across payroll and payments
Lead complex fintech initiatives from problem definition through delivery and iteration
Partner closely with engineering on data models, APIs and system integrations
Work with payroll operations, payments operations and finance to understand real-world constraints
Improve how payroll cost changes and variances are surfaced and explained
Enable better monitoring, alerting and early-warning signals for payroll and payments issues
Align multiple teams around shared priorities, trade-offs and delivery plans
Communicate clearly with peers and leadership on progress, risks and decisions
First 3 months
You ramp quickly on Deel’s payroll and payments landscape
You understand key payroll events, data flows and money movement dependencies
You begin contributing to active PFC initiatives and technical discussions
By 6 months
You are independently leading cross-team fintech initiatives
Payroll and payments teams have better visibility into cost changes and risks
Invoicing and funding workflows are clearer and more reliable as a result of your work
By 12 months
You are a trusted owner within the Payroll Fintech Connectivity domain
Stakeholders rely on you for judgement on complex payroll-payments trade-off
Your work has materially reduced operational issues, escalations and rework
Strong product management fundamentals with experience owning complex systems
Background working on B2B SaaS, fintech or highly operational products
Experience with data-heavy workflows, integrations or platform capabilities
Ability to reason about trade-offs across product, operations and technical constraints
Clear communication skills and comfort influencing across teams
Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Nice to have
Experience with payroll, payments, invoicing or financial systems
Exposure to regulated or multi-country product environments
Experience operating at Staff or Lead Product Manager level
