Millions of teachers and families are using TalkingPoints in their classrooms, schools and districts across the U.S. TalkingPoints works with key school district partners such as Seattle Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, Buffalo Public School, Wake County and NYC DOE. We have won awards from NYU, MIT, Google, Forbes and are backed by Google, Eric Schmidt, AT&T, Cisco, and Stanford University to name a few.

TalkingPoints is at a critical inflection point in the organization's growth. We continue to see exponential growth in both our user base and our own internal structure.  It's an important time to join our team and build on our momentum and ability to support students and families during this critical time in which education equity gaps are more concerning than ever. We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager, Data & Integrations to own data use cases and workflows end to end, and to lead our data and integrations roadmap.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You’ll set direction, lead cross-functional work, and stay close to execution—making smart tradeoffs, writing clear requirements, and using strong analytical judgment. You bring deep expertise in US K–12 education data and integrations, and ensure our data reliably serves the product, internal teams, and partners.

You will:

  • Define and prioritize core data use cases: product functionality, impact measurement, and organizational success
  • Anticipate scale, performance, and cost implications of data systems

Build and operate reliable data products

  • Define data requirements across internal teams, districts, and partners, turning needs into clear product direction
  • Partner with engineering, product, and research to deliver high-quality data solutions and integrations
  • Bring deep expertise in K–12 district data (SIS, LMS, student outcomes) and represent the perspective of district IT administrators

Ensure data quality, governance, and scale

  • Own data quality and sources of truth across data domains
  • Define KPIs and SLAs for data health, reliability, and performance
  • Establish governance, shared definitions, documentation, and processes that ensure reliability at scale

Enable measurement and insight

  • Own core organizational metrics and ensure teams have access to decision-ready data
  • Analyze usage, funnels, and outcomes to identify opportunities and measure impact
  • Increase data literacy and alignment around success metrics across the organization

Leverage AI and analytics

  • Use AI to analyze data, build tools that enable others to do the same, and support AI/ML use cases in the product
  • Promote fast feedback loops and metrics-driven decision-making

Lead through clarity and prioritization

  • Ruthlessly prioritize to focus on the highest-impact work
  • Communicate roadmaps, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders, including executive leadership and partners

  • Using AI to improve efficiency and build data-driven solutions
  • Presenting and defending product strategy and roadmaps
  • Making data-driven decisions—and enabling others to do the same

  • Action-oriented and comfortable owning outcomes
  • Highly collaborative and cross-functional
  • Curious, analytical, and motivated by hard problems
  • Organized and able to manage complexity
  • Clear and confident in written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-moving environment
