Principal HVAC Engineer

Job responsibilities:
- Performance Testing: Independently conduct HVAC system performance tests, including temperature & humidity, airflow, air pressure, and cooling load, with optimization based on results.
- Standards Compliance: Knowledgeable in data center standards (TIA-942, GB50174, ISO 9001), ensuring tests and validations meet industry requirements.
- Tools & Equipment: Proficient with testing instruments such as temperature/humidity loggers, anemometers, airflow meters, and pressure sensors.
- Project & Team Management: Develop testing plans, allocate resources efficiently, and lead teams to complete complex HVAC testing tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Problem-Solving: Identify, analyze, and resolve system or equipment issues; propose and implement effective improvements.
- Reporting & Data Analysis: Prepare accurate, detailed test and data analysis reports to support decision-making and system optimization.
- Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate effectively with design, construction, and operations teams; familiar with Building Management Systems (BMS) and cross-disciplinary systems (power, fire protection, automation).
- Continuous Learning & Adaptability: Stay updated with new HVAC technologies and data center developments, applying innovations to improve testing efficiency.-

Job requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC engineering, with a focus on data center environments.
- Proven track record of successful HVAC system design and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to HVAC systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software and tools.
- Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
