Principal Engineer - Senior Project Manager (Contract)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to act as a master coordinator across multiple concurrent programmes. This role will work closely with customers, internal delivery teams, and technical stakeholders to ensure complex projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating across multiple industries and delivery methodologies, with experience in platform migrations, data intensive programmes, and customer facing delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end to end project delivery across multiple parallel initiatives
• Act as the central coordination point between customers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders
• Lead customer engagement including requirements gathering, planning, and ongoing delivery management
• Manage project plans, milestones, risks, dependencies, and reporting
• Gather, track, and manage client deliverables and approvals
• Ensure deadlines are met across fast paced, deadline driven programmes
• Support platform and system migrations from legacy environments to new platforms
• Work across Agile delivery models including Scrum and Kanban
• Apply Waterfall principles where appropriate, particularly in regulated or fixed scope environments
• Oversee projects involving big data, data platforms, and data streaming technologies
• Adapt delivery approach across multiple industries including defense, marketing, and financial services

Required Experience

• 12+ years of experience in IT, 5+ years experience in a senior or expert level Project Manager role
• Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong background in customer facing delivery roles
• Experience delivering complex technical programmes, ideally involving data platforms or streaming architectures
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Working knowledge of Waterfall delivery models
• Demonstrated experience with platform or system migration projects
• Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams

Desirable Experience

• Experience working across highly regulated environments
• Exposure to enterprise scale or mission critical systems
• Background working with global delivery teams

• Hourly Rate: $82 to $88 hourly on W2 without benefits, depending on skills and years of experience.
