SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Principal Engineer, Program Solutions. We are seeking an individual to coordinate the design, analysis, development, and execution of the vision for SageSure’s insurance products. The Principal Engineer role will own implementing new insurance programs and developing new program delivery methods for SageSure. This role will have significant interaction across our organization, including with our executive leadership. Given the broad reach of this role, the candidate will need to work in a highly collaborative fashion and deliver new approaches to SageSure’s Program Architecture. 

 

What you’d be doing: 

  • Lead and mentor a team of product engineers and analysts focused on implementing new insurance programs. 
  • Be a lynchpin resource in engineering new program deliveries for SageSure. 
  • Identify, and execute improvements to, challenges within our existing product ecosystem. 
  • Collaborate closely with delivery and enablement teams for delivery improvement opportunities. 
  • Use critical thinking skills to deliver innovative and practical solutions to solve complex problems. 
  • Communicate and navigate effectively with stakeholders from different disciplines and competencies with a demonstrated executive presence. 
  • Uphold the established standard of excellence for quality and timely project delivery. 
  • Ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned 

 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • 7+ years of experience in the Insurance industry, preferably personal lines, homeowners, and/or commercial BOP. 
  • Proficiency in Visual Studio Code and GitLab. 
  • Applied knowledge of SQL/TSQL/XML/HTML/JSON. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of insurance product rating algorithms, underwriting rules, and policy forms 
  • Ability to work effectively across technical and business-oriented stakeholders. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business items clearly and succinctly, both written and verbally. 
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply skills learned on the job in a rapid and effective manner. 

 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

  • Proficiency in data analytics tool Alteryx. 
  • Process automation experience. 
  • Experience leading, organizing, and executing work for a team of analysts or engineers. 
  • Experience working with a Strategy and Transformation organization 
  • Enterprise mindset with a passion for improvement.
