We are seeking a Principal Engineer – Physical Design to lead implementation and optimization of low-power, chiplet-based MCU designs on cost-optimized mature process nodes. Job Description

  • Own end-to-end physical design for chiplet-based MCU SoCs, including floorplanning, placement, power planning, Signal integrity, routing, timing closure and physical verification
  • Apply best practices for mature-node design to achieve cost efficiency without compromising performance
  • Collaborate with architecture and packaging teams to enable seamless chiplet connectivity and inter-die interfaces.
  • Ensure physical integrity and manufacturability for multi-die systems using established packaging technologies
  • Implement low-power techniques such as clock gating, power gating, and leakage reduction tailored for mature nodes
  • Balance power, timing, and area trade-offs to meet stringent cost and efficiency targets
  • Work closely with RTL, verification, and DFT teams to ensure design convergence
  • Partner with packaging and test engineering for robust product delivery
  • Define best practices for physical design flows optimized for mature nodes and chiplet architectures
  • Evaluate tools and flows that enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness

BTech/MTech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with 15+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC physical design with strong focus on low-power and cost-optimized designs

  • Proven experience in mature-node technologies (e.g., 12nm, 22nm) and chiplet-based architectures
  • Expertise in Cadence/Synopsys P&R tools and sign-off flows (STA, IR-drop, EM analysis)
  • Extensive experience dealing with power intent (UPF/CPF) and multi-voltage design
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with AI/ML based flow development and/or physical implementation is desired
  • Experience with packaging standards for chiplet integration is a plus
