We're currently seeking a Principal Engineer/Architect to lead our Energy Solutions technology architecture practice during what is a very exciting time for the business.
Brady Technologies enables energy market participants to profit in new ways from the energy transition. We provide software solutions to support above market returns from trading, manage power operations, manage complex risks in evolving and volatile markets, impacted by increased decentralisation, diversity of asset types, the drive for decarbonisation, and ongoing regulatory change. Our customers include globally renowned utilities, independent power producers, renewable asset developers, energy and multi-commodity trading firms, oil & gas companies, hedge funds and other financial institutions, as well as state power grid operators.
Reporting to the Head of Engineering , the Principal Engineer/Architect will be responsible for leading the definition and delivery of the functional and technical architecture of our ETRM solution. The remit of the Principal Engineer/ Architect will also encompass the Brady Energy product ecosystem with a focus on our modernisation programme.

 
Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the definition and delivery of the Energy portfolio's product and technology strategy
  • Work closely with the Product Delivery Managers to ensure that the Energy products are technically fit-for-purpose and remain current
  • Work with the Head of Engineering and colleagues to define, implement and evolve Brady's technology vision, strategy and ways of working. Define and measure the corresponding success and performance metrics
  • Act as both a technology and business expert, making decisions that impact the current and future products and services of the company
  • Maintain a customer-focused outlook, ensuring that our technology products remain relevant and competitive
  • Gain an understanding of European energy trading and risk management and expand into adjacent asset classes to a global geographic reach
  • Be aware of the capabilities and offerings from Brady's competitors and seek to drive positive differentiation in Brady's products
  • Share knowledge & mentor Brady’s employees and other stakeholders with regard to the company's technology vision
  • Work to develop collaborative working relationships with teams in all of Brady's locations


Key Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience working as an Architect at a B2B software vendor/technology company working with trading or capital markets technology
  • Previous greenfield experience, building a product from scratch, the use of prototypes, MVP's, alpha and beta products
  • Experience with cloud native architecture and technologies such as .Net Core, JavaScript, orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and public cloud (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud)
  • Experience leading security reviews with customers
  • The confidence, credibility and leadership skills to effect change through influence in the broader technology organisation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, credibility and stature with the ability to articulate drive and vision to our internal teams and external customers
