Location: Flexible (Shenzhen). This role allows the flexibility to work from home, within proximity to this office location.
The Role
As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for camera electrical design and development of GoPro products. This role require a strong technical knowledge, you will communicate technical requirements with cross-functional teams, and have hands-on experience to deliver best quality hardware design.
What You Will Do
- Responsible in electrical design, reviews, and collaborate with cross functional team to accomplish GoPro project and JDM deliverables.
- Responsible electrical circuit design with ORCAD, PCB layout reviews, and managing electrical BOM to PLM system.
- Developing electrical design documentats, test requirements, and validate electrical design which meet functional, reliability, high volume manufacturing, and safety requirement.
- Responsible for engineering development plan, and schedule to achieve product requirements.
- Support compliance team to ensure hardware design meet electrical compliance requirements.
- Accountable in resolving technical issues, and issue tracking with JIRA.
- Support second source components qualification during hardware development and post launch.
Skills We’re Excited About
- MS or BsC degree in electrical engineering with 12+ years of experience in related consumer camera electrical design
- Experience in Orcad schematic, Allegro PCB EDA tool, and managing electrical BOM and ECO with PLM system such as Arena. Familiar with all high-speed PCB design requirements.
- Proven experience in designing camera electrical hardware with Microprocessor, DDR memory, power system, high-speed transceivers, WiFi/BT/GPS devices, and hig-speed signals such as I2C, I3C, I2S, SPI, UART, USB, MIPI, and PCIe interfaces.
- Proven experience in design system power architecture, power integrity simulation for new design, DC/DC buck regulators designs, and USB-C Power develiery.
- Proven ability in analyzing root cause, complex technical debugging, and problem solving independently.
- Proven as EE technical lead in project, and collaborate in a dynamic cross-functional environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills working with cross functional team in US headquarter.
- Hands-on experience with electrical test equipments, such as Oscilloscope, digital signal analyzers, TDR, power analyzer, USB2/3 PHY analyzer, EMI and ESD testing, and etc.
