Job Description:
  • Design, manage and monitor data infrastructure on AWS (Amazon Web Services) and at data center, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support strategic decision-making.
  • Establish data platform policies and standards to align with business objectives and technological capabilities.
  • Develop pipelines for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) of data infrastructure and full-stack applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), as well as continually improve the operation, security and performance of the Data Platform.  
  • Focus on building a system and pipelines with availability, scalability, performance, and security in mind.  
  • Identify performance issues across multiple applications and work with teams to remediate.  
  • Deploy and support data platform full-stack infrastructure applications.  
  • Develop and deliver tools, pipelines and framework to accelerate development and improve team agility, including automation, failure notification system, and backup/recovery plan.  
  • Utilize coding skills across a number of programming languages including Cloud Formation, Python and/or Java and build appropriate instrumentation to collect metrics on system performance, cost, data ingress/egress/ acquisition/ storage processes and business critical reports.  
  • Work with information security and compliance teams in governing policies and procedures.  
  • Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.  
  • Coordinate infrastructure enhancements and maintenance with the system/network engineering teams.  
  • Perform technology evaluations and testing to introduce new technologies to be adopted by the data platform team.  
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in enterprise data platform architecture, design, administration, and management. 
  • Work experience to include: 1. Five years of experience building and maintaining distributed production environments at scale in consumer enterprises. 2. Designing and developing systems and operations, including capacity planning for holiday-peaks, availability analysis, load testing, and corresponding risk-mitigation strategies for data platforms. 3. Establishing data platform infrastructure policies and standards and improving cost efficacies. 4. Using Java or Python programming language to collect metrics on system performance, cost, data ingress, data egress, data acquisition, and data storage. 5. Developing pipelines for automation, metrics, data collection and system administration purposes. 6. Using CI/CD pipelines methodology with Jenkins, Cloud pipeline, and CloudFormation. 7. Deploying pipelines in AWS environment. 8. Administering databases, including Amazon Redshift, Teradata, and MySQL. 9. Developing at least one of the following automation and orchestration platforms: Airflow or Automic. Academic background or work experience to include: 10. Computer Science fundamentals, including Engineering Mathematics, Computer Programming, IT, and Computer Organization. 11. Object Oriented Programming and C++. Any and all experience can be gained concurrently. Position participates in 24X7 on-call rotation monthly; hours adjusted accordingly.

  • Salary: $200,120.00 to $205,120.00 per year.
