We’re seeking a Principal Data Engineer & Program Manager to lead the design, build, and delivery of a next-generation AI-powered digital healthcare platform. This Azure-native ecosystem will redefine patient experience across telemedicine and telehealth applications by enabling interoperability, data governance, and advanced analytics at scale.
You’ll serve as both strategic program lead and hands-on technical owner, driving data engineering, architecture, and delivery excellence across multiple workstreams—while ensuring security, scalability, and measurable business outcomes.

What You’ll Achieve
- Deliver the minimum viable lakehouse (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for 2–3 key domains such as EMR and claims, complete with lineage, data-quality checks, and SLAs.
- Launch a certified Power BI semantic model with RLS, KPI documentation, and refresh SLAs.
- Develop operating runbooks covering RBAC, observability, cost control, and incident/change management.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and manage sprint planning, backlog, and stakeholder communication across data, streaming, BI, governance, and QA workstreams.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in ADLS Gen2, Iceberg/Delta, ADF, Databricks/Synapse, and Power BI.
- Define and enforce Medallion architecture standards, data partitioning, compaction, and lifecycle policies.
- Oversee data governance with Microsoft Purview and Entra ID, ensuring consistent taxonomy, RBAC, and lineage.
- Partner with Security and Compliance on HIPAA-aligned data privacy and protection controls.
- Manage DevSecOps and CI/CD frameworks, observability, and disaster-recovery strategies.
- Establish and monitor SLAs/SLOs for batch and streaming ingestion pipelines.
- Mentor and coach distributed teams, conducting design/code reviews and driving engineering best practices.
Requirements
What You Bring
- 10+ years in data engineering, including 3+ leading Azure lakehouse initiatives.
- Deep expertise in ADLS Gen2, Iceberg/Delta, ADF, SQL, and at least one of PySpark, Databricks, or Synapse.
- Proven success designing Power BI semantic models with RLS and high-performance optimizations.
- Experience implementing data cataloging, quality KPIs, and metadata-driven pipelines using Purview.
- Strong background in DevOps, IaC, Git, CI/CD, observability, and cloud cost management.
- Healthcare data familiarity (FHIR/HL7) and knowledge of HIPAA-grade compliance are strong advantages.
