We are seeking a skilled and motivated Principal Application Engineer to join our team, specializing in high-voltage GaN (Gallium Nitride) technology. With at least 10 years of experience, you will be responsible for driving product definition, developing innovative reference designs, and supporting customers through technical expertise. You will also contribute to the creation of technical materials and relay valuable feedback to guide product development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Definition: Lead the definition of new high-voltage GaN products, ensuring alignment with customer needs and industry trends.
  • Reference Design & Evaluation Board Development: Design and develop innovative reference designs and evaluation boards using high-voltage GaN technology to demonstrate product capabilities and help customers integrate the products effectively.
  • Customer Support: Provide expert customer support, including on-site troubleshooting, and conducting customer visits to offer technical guidance and resolve issues.
  • Technical Documentation: Write and develop various technical collaterals, including application notes, white papers, and marketing materials that communicate product benefits, use cases, and best practices to customers.
  • Customer Feedback Integration: Collect and relay customer feedback to the product team, ensuring that insights are utilized in shaping future product definitions and improvements.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics Engineering or in any of the related field
  • 10+ years' Experience overall and Relevant 2+ years of experience working with high/low-voltage GaN technology and power electronics
  • Hands-on experience in AC-DC, DC-DC, or DC-AC converter development for industrial, datacenter, consumer, or computing applications
  • Nice to have: Experience in embedded firmware for power converters
  • Excellent skills in testing high-speed WBG (Wide Bandgap) device switching
  • Strong fundamentals in power electronics with a focus on low-voltage GaN-based systems
  • Excellent technical writing skills for producing application notes, white papers, and documentation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working directly with customers
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Altium for schematic design and PCB layout
  • Experience with power electronics simulation tools such as Simetrix, Simplis, PLECS, and LTSpice
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in designing magnetic components (e.g., inductors, transformers)
