Principal Android Engineer

We need your mobile development skills to push our projects and our teams to the next level. You will become part of a continuously transforming environment that influences the banking experience of millions of users around the world.

We are looking for pioneers to help us establish and scale up our new hub in Hi Chi Minh City.

You will be an integral part of creating the direction for the Android team in Hi Chi Minh. Through your high level understanding of Backbase projects and Android capabilities, you will build a converging path that prepares other developers for their projects. You will be the technical lead for our Android efforts, the source of truth when it comes to implementation.

Your goal is to seamlessly integrate the Backbase platform into our customers’ systems and then build on top of that, making a final solution perfectly tailored towards customer needs. During projects, you take on the expert role for anything related to Android. Not one implementation is the same as another. You build apps mainly using native technology.

You will build beautiful code, run tests, and coach a team of developers on the client side. The job includes a full range of responsibilities, from feature development and innovation to maintenance, upgrades and on-call support. You will provide support by providing solicited and unsolicited advice, mentoring, audits and training on the job. With your confidence and skills, you meet and exceed customer desires. You leave behind an impeccable impression and you will bring home components that can be reused or further developed.

● You developed at least three apps, of which at least one is available via Google Play;
● You are excellent in reading code in order to be able to analyze quickly;
● You are a mentor and enjoy helping other developers grow ;
● We won’t have to tell you anything about mobile development for Android - you will teach us your best practices;
● Kotlin holds no secrets for you, with Java still in your memory;
● Backbase is rapidly expanding, and you will deliver speedy and cost-efficient solutions;
● When we mention a ‘getting things done’ mentality, you immediately recognise yourself;
● You may be a born presenter, but if you’re not, you are at least eager to learn how to deliver an outstanding presentation;
● You like to share your knowledge and are able to clearly explain to others while giving training and running workshops.
