Job Description: 

Blue Water Thinking is seeking a motivated and skilled Principle Agilist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this role, you will lead the team responsible for all SAFe® transformation activities within the portfolio. You will be responsible for analyzing project-related problems and creating innovative solutions using Agile principles and best practices. You will provide the highest level of expert consultation for the large scale implementation of agile practices including but not limited to SAFe®. If you have a strong background in SAFe® principles and a passion for making a positive impact on Veterans' lives, we invite you to join our team. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the team responsible for all SAFe® transformation activities within a portfolio.
  • Facilitate PI Planning, value stream mapping, and Agile ceremonies across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Analyze new and complex project-related problems, creating innovative solutions.
  • Provide applications systems analysis and develop long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities.
  • Coordinate necessary support resources for the successful completion of projects.
  • Monitor project progress, making adjustments as necessary to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
  • Collaborate with federal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to align Agile delivery with mission objectives, compliance, and procurement constraints. 

 Minimum Qualifications: 

  • SAFe® Practice Consultant (SPC) Certification or SAFe® Practice Consultant-Trainer (SPCT) Certification
  • 20 years experience with developing IT solutions
  • 10 years experience leading Agile and SAFe implementations in medium to large organizations with some experience in support of healthcare of healthcare technology environments.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large or complex projects working with federal agencies or contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • MS Office suite skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, Outlook, etc.) 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), or similar certification.
  • 20 years experience working with government agencies or in the health care industry.
  • Demonstrated success in enterprise-level Agile coaching and change management. 

Eligibility: 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role 

Compensation: 

Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract specific affordability and organizational requirements. The proposed salary range for this position is outlined below. 

Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000
