Press Operator 2/Coater Operator

TLDR

Operate multi-station wide web coating equipment for manufacturing pressure sensitive adhesive labels and maintain quality control while promoting a safe working environment.

Duties include effectively operating multi station wide web coating equipment in the manufacturing of pressure sensitive adhesive labels, liner, and printed materials: 

  1. Complete make ready by ensuring correct setup of all coating stations, winding spindles, and any ancillary tooling (perforation, or other downstream processes).  Assists teammates with preparation and setup of equipment when needed.
  2. Ensures operation of equipment at specified speeds while maintaining quality. Samples product in accordance with existing sample procedure to verify quality.  Has the ability to focus on tasks and not allow outside distractions to deter from completing work.   Complete all documentation, including press logs and other recording documentation.
  3. Assists in the preparation of materials during machine operation, including primer coatings, silicone chemistry, and adhesive, and movement of raw materials and finished rolls to and from machine as needed.
  4. Maintain the press to keep it in good operating condition, including periodic maintenance and cleaning of any spills or debris.
  5. Proactively promote a safe and harmonious working environment, and follows all safety guidelines and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE, and understanding hazards of the work environment.
  6. Perform other related duties and overtime as required.

This is a 2nd shift position, 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 PM., Monday through Friday.

Shift Differential/Premium: Additional $2.00 per hour.

Previous industrial/machine experience in manufacturing environment preferred but not required.  Training will be provided.  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, couch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.  Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

The employee must be able to work in a team environment. Able to communicate English, read, understand and carry out written instructions. Ability to work flexible schedule based on business needs and any other duties assigned

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $25.00 to $28.50 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
