Langford & Low Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Manager & Estimator, to be based in their Portland, ME office.
Requirements of the Preconstruction Manager & Estimator:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
5+ years of experience in construction management preconstruction and estimating
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost control
Ability to interface with clients and develop preconstruction estimates with limited information.
Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Ability to commute to Portland, ME and travel to job sites Monday through Friday.
Benefits of the Job:
Salary starting at $100,000, commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities of the Preconstruction Manager & Estimator:
Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals for construction projects
Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for labor, materials, and equipment
Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier bids
Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
Prepare cost reports and forecasts for management and clients
Assist in contract negotiations and administration
Participate in project meetings and presentations
