The Purpose:
The Technical Sale Lead role is pivotal in driving commercial and sales success by delivering expert consultancy, specialist advice, and technical guidance to support product and service adoption. It bridges product capability, sales, and operational execution through collaboration on complex initiatives, effective stakeholder management, and continuous improvement.

By leading business analysis and process optimisation, the role enhances customer readiness for go-to-market initiatives and strengthens organisational capability—ensuring product strategies are executed successfully while improving sales performance, customer experience, and cross-team collaboration.

The core accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Partner with sales and product leaders to define customer requirements, validate technical feasibility, and shape strategic solution proposals.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration to translate business objectives into actionable insights, ensuring solutions align with commercial and operational goals.
  • Own complex consulting engagements, providing authoritative advice and driving solution design, cost modelling, and risk assessment.
  • Champion risk governance by proactively identifying threats, dependencies, and mitigation strategies in line with organisational frameworks.
  • Drive the successful delivery of high-impact product and service initiatives, optimising delivery models and managing resources to ensure seamless execution.
  • Conduct advanced business and situational analysis to uncover root causes, inform strategic decisions, and enable continuous improvement.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, partners, and technical teams to foster alignment, informed decision-making, and effective execution across the business.

Success in this role requires demonstrated capability in the following areas:

Sales & Technical Expertise: Brings 5–7 years of experience across sales, solution delivery, and stakeholder engagement within payments technology, IT systems, and the broader financial services sector. Experience in NPP is preferred.

Solution Design & Delivery: Applies advanced technical and commercial knowledge to support solution development, ensuring feasibility, scalability, and alignment with customer needs and business strategy.

Business Development: Proactively identifies new business opportunities, develops qualified leads, and collaborates with sales leadership to convert prospects into long-term clients.

Client Engagement: Manages key customer relationships, responding to complex sales opportunities and ensuring alignment between client requirements and technical solutions.

Performance & Market Insight: Monitors sales performance, pipeline health, and customer satisfaction; provides actionable insights on market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity.

Strategic Advisory: Provides expert advice that influences operational and commercial decision-making, ensuring seamless translation of sales and product strategy into execution.

Leadership & Knowledge Sharing: Oversees the delivery of specialist advice by others, fostering collaboration and capability uplift across sales and technical teams. Consolidates expertise from multiple sources to deliver coherent, impactful recommendations that advance organisational objectives.
