As a Presales Engineer, you act as the technical interface between Sales, Partners, and Customers.
Your main focus is supporting the sales process—particularly in complex tenders—while ensuring a smooth technical handover and structured feedback after project completion. Providing technical presales support (hardware & software) for sales activities and key tenders, both remotely and on-site at customer locations or at the Promethean office in Essen.
You will work closely with the Area Sales Manager and internal support teams, representing the company as a trusted technical expert in the German-speaking market.
Primary focus: Presales support for key tenders and strategic customers
Secondary focus: Technical follow-up, product feedback, and escalated support
Market: German-speaking region (DACH)
Base Range: €54,700 - €75,200 annually + Commission Eligible
Responsibilities:
Provide technical presales support (hardware & software) for sales activities and key tenders, both remotely and on-site at customer locations or at the Promethean office in Essen.
Collaborate with the Area Sales Manager throughout the sales and tender process
Analyse customer requirements and design technical solutions that integrate into existing IT environments
Act as a technical contact for key customers and partners, answering product-related questions
Deliver technical training sessions for customers, partners, and internal stakeholders (installation, configuration, maintenance)
Collect, document, and track product enhancements and technical feedback related to tenders
Document bugs and improvement requests in internal systems and act as a technical interface to Support and Escalation teams
Support partners and customers in escalated technical cases, mainly in cooperation with Support
Develop technical and audio-visual training materials for partners and customers in the German-speaking market
Support installation and configuration of internal IT equipment for new hires according to company standards
Maintain demo equipment and technical setups used for customer presentations and training
Requirements:
Technical background in IT, AV, hardware/software solutions, or technical support
Experience in presales, technical consulting, or customer-facing technical roles
Strong presentation and communication skills, comfortable working with customers and partners
Structured, solution-oriented mindset
Willingness to travel within the region, including overnight stays
Fluent English
