In this fast-paced role, you’ll be working across a broad range of employment law matters to help clients anticipate, manage and resolve legal issues. Our team services businesses of all sizes, from small and medium-sized businesses and startups to large enterprises. We focus on providing efficient, cost-effective and quality advice through our innovative subscription model.

As a Senior Lawyer/Practice Leader, you will also be responsible for supervising a growing team of talented corporate lawyers. As such, you will demonstrate a genuine interest in training and mentoring junior lawyers and supporting their growth in the firm.

Things you’ll be doing:

  • Overseeing junior and graduate lawyers in their day to day work.
  • Providing written and verbal advice on the full range of employment law matters, including in relation to modern awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Reviewing, drafting and updating employment documents such as contracts of employment, deeds of release and policies.
  • Supporting clients and advising on recruitment, onboarding, application of their internal policies and employee terminations.
  • Managing employment litigation matters and other larger projects and briefing counsel where necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced: At least 4-7+ years of employment law experience in a reputable law firm or employment focused in-house position.
  • Attentive: Brilliant attention to detail - nothing ever slips through the cracks.
  • Efficient: Prioritises effectively, focuses on what matters and works productively.
  • Commercial: Demonstrates business acumen and cares about business growth (including helping to grow LegalVision further).
  • Collaborative: Gets a kick out of working with smart, fun and passionate people and learning from them.
  • Adaptable: Grasps new concepts quickly, improves every day and goes with the flow.
  • Service Orientated: Loves assisting clients and providing an amazing experience.
  • Optimistic: Sees the best in situations, is solutions-focused and never gives up.

The Perks

  • Fast-paced environment with accelerated growth opportunities for high performers.
  • Talented and energetic teammates across the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
  • Earn additional ‘LV Leave’ days, plus paid birthday leave, volunteering leave, and parental leave.
  • Annual budget to spend on external learning and development.
  • Regular team socials, drinks and team lunches.
  • Vibrant office environment in Surry Hills super close to Central Station, and flexible work-from-home options.
