PR & Media Relations Specialist-Dutch Speaking (Freelance)

We are now expanding our network and seeking a PR & Media Relations Specialist to support a tech company in the energy sector with proactive media outreach across Sweden and the Netherlands. This role is ideal for someone with a strong journalistic instinct, sharp pitching skills, and a deep understanding of how to shape compelling stories for the right audiences.

• Lead proactive PR and media relations efforts for a tech client in the energy field.
• Produce press materials, including media pitches, press releases, briefing documents, and story angles.
• Drive direct media outreach, identifying and pitching relevant journalists across national tech and business media, energy sector publications, and regional outlets.
• Collaborate closely with Bou and the client to shape the right media strategy—developing new pitch angles, identifying high-potential media targets, and advising on opportunities.
• Support media preparation, including messaging, talking points, and handling potential inbound media requests.
• Work in a client-facing role, as part of a coordinated PR effort while leveraging your own media expertise.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in PR, media relations, or journalism—ideally with experience in tech, energy, sustainability, or B2B sectors.
• A journalistic background is a strong plus, with a natural ability to recognize what makes a story newsworthy.
• Pitching is a must—you know how to craft angles that land and how to build relationships with journalists.
• Dutch-speaking (native or fluent) and comfortable engaging with media across the Netherlands.
• A strategic communicator who enjoys shaping narratives, challenging assumptions, and uncovering new story opportunities.
• Organized, proactive, and confident in client-facing collaboration.
