The Planet Technologies West Region is looking for a Power Platform Strategist. The successful candidate's skills bridge Power Platform development, business solutioning, and the human experience of technology. The successful candidate likely has a work history as a developer who speaks Power Platform as a primary language and is a business analyst at heart. They have a flexible mindset and demeanor that allows them to "run the mile they are in," meaning they navigate work with a deep trust of their core problem solving abilities even when encountering unfamiliar, difficult, or ambiguous contexts, which brings them and their teammates across all types of finish lines.
Essential Functions
Be a strategic and technical leader in Power Platform.
Define and manage technical strategy on Power Platform projects and effectively communicate that strategy to leadership and Project Teams
Possess passion of knowledge of the breadth and depth of the ever-evolving Power Platform ecosystem, and deploys that deep understanding in challenging thought work with Clients (e.g., Power Platform visioning, strategy development, governance, relationship management, etc.)
Facilitate cross-area, integrated project strategies and executions with other teams, e.g., cloud engineering, modern workplace, development, security and compliance teams
Champion Power Platform's citizen developer culture by fluently connecting the division's Power Platform work with IT transformation and organizational change management factors and teams
Identify gaps and proactively coach division and Project Team members to keep our Power Platform approaches current and effective
Collaborate and share knowledge across divisions of Planet Technology to deepen our practice in this area
Must be able and willing to work within Pacific or Mountain work hours.
Be a mature technical and functional consultant who:
Meets with Clients in discovery, planning/design, and training/enablement contexts
Can perform as well as facilitate others in the design, development, and implementation of solutions, e.g.,
Solution envisioning and requirements analysis, including fit/gap analysis
Security strategy, compliance strategy, data migration strategy, and application lifecycle management
Develop using out of the box product features, custom development, and/or use of third party tools
Perform tasks across the full development lifecycle, e.g., discovery, planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance
Create solutions that balance best practice with Client requirements, preferences, and needs
Produces clear and accurate documentation

5-7+ years experience, including Power Platform development, and consulting contexts.

Technical Abilities
Extensive skills in identifying and assessing a variety of business contexts, researching and determining solutions to problems, providing technical recommendations, and other business analysis skills, e.g.,

Expertise in classic BA tools (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, other modeling tools a plus)
Performs analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
A plus is formal training or certification in business analysis
In-depth functional knowledge and technical expertise in the Power Platform, including Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents
Confidently proficient in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and Power Virtual Agents
Can leverage Dataverse, on-premise, and other data sources
Able to work with Data Gateways and connectors and build custom connectors
Comfortable working with Dataflows, PowerQuery ETL, and the Common Data Model
Experience with SQL
Comfortable working with XML, JSON, and Azure App Registrations
Able to work with solutions and Azure DevOps sprints/pipelines across Dev, Test, and Prod environments
Have an understanding of Microsoft licensing for different Power Platform solutions
Proven technical proficiency within:
PL-600 - Power Solution Architect Expert
PL-200 - Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate
A plus is proven additional technical proficiency some or all of our target areas, e.g., AZ-900 - Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, AZ-204 - Azure Developer Associate, AZ-400 - DevOps Engineer Expert, MS-900 - Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, MB-910 - Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (CRM), SC-900 - Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
Experience with Microsoft and related technologies including: .NET, C#, Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, JavaScript, FetchXML, Data and 3rd party tools e.g., XRMToolBox, SOAPUI, VSCode, etc.; Able to read/write data using SOAP and REST API’s, including private API’s via Data Gateway and Azure KeyVault authentication
Has a core set of cross-platform development skills and can easily pick up development roles on non-Power Platform projects if needed
Ability to create nice looking presentations and other documentation that effectively visualizes concepts and ideas

Salaries for Power Platform Specialists at Planet Technologies range from $120,000 and $165,000. Several factors will impact final pay offered to a successful candidate including but not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, clearance level, the type of years and experience within the industry, education, training, etc.
