Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Architect to lead efforts in optimizing and enhancing the performance of our existing database architecture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements for PostgreSQL environments. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can design and implement scalable database solutions while ensuring security, reliability, and efficiency.

The Work:

Analyze and optimize existing PostgreSQL database structures and queries.
Design and implement scalable and high-performance database solutions.
Develop and maintain robust database security protocols.
Create and manage comprehensive backup and recovery procedures.
Collaborate with development teams to improve database integration and performance.
Monitor database performance and implement proactive optimizations.
Lead database migration and upgrade projects, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

Here's what you need:

4-5 years of relevant experience
Strong proficiency in database design principles, including normalization, denormalization, and partitioning strategies.
Proven expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability improvements.
Experience with PostgreSQL monitoring tools and implementing proactive performance optimizations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize complex database systems.
Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
Ability to work in a hybrid capacity. This role will be on-site, as needed, in Falls Church (likely a few times a month).
US Citizenship with Active Secret

Bonus Points if you have:

Proficiency in creating and managing backup and recovery procedures for PostgreSQL environments.
Expertise in PostgreSQL security best practices and implementation of robust security protocols.
Experience implementing TimescaleDB for time-series data.

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
