Role Overview 

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Climate Control Sector - a global business with sales of over £400m. This role is open to candidates across Europe and can be based in any country where IMI has an established presence, working remotely.

The role will be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy and product portfolio roadmap for our Commercial Buildings offering. The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing, sourcing, engineering/R&D, internal senior executives, sales, and senior management team to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the Commercial Buildings product portfolio. The role will also own the commercial success of the portfolio. This will be done through collaboration with the regional and cross-functional teams. Defining target markets and segments and creating plans to maximise organic growth and market share capture. 

The role will be a key contributor to the Sector growth, working closely with the commercial, sales, marketing, and engineering organization to drive the commercial success of our organization, outperform market and competition. 

 

What You’ll Do

Strategy & Planning

  • Define and execute the Commercial Buildings portfolio strategy to maximize growth and profitability
  • Identify market trends and opportunities through competitive and market analysis
  • Apply core marketing frameworks, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, value management, and pricing
  • Contribute to sector strategy, marketing plans, and budget development
  • Own the product planning process, including new product development in collaboration with R&D, ISC, and Sales

Portfolio Management

  • Own and continuously strengthen the commercial positioning of the Commercial Buildings portfolio
  • Lead the portfolio across its full lifecycle, from ideation and launch to sustain and phase‑out
  • Develop and manage customer‑driven product roadmaps aligned with willingness to pay
  • Drive portfolio vitality through new product introductions and disciplined portfolio simplification (80/20)
  • Define and implement value‑based pricing strategies across regions and channels

Offering Management

  • Act as the bridge between technology and customers, clearly articulating compelling value propositions
  • Ensure successful product launches in collaboration with Customer Marketing and Sales
  • Lead Voice of Customer (VoC) activities and integrate insights from regional sales teams
  • Develop impactful sales tools and pitches to drive adoption and customer orders
  • Deliver financial results for the portfolio, including growth, profitability, and vitality

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • Proven experience in product management, product development, or marketing management
  • Strong track record managing and growing product portfolios in B2B industrial markets
  • Excellent commercial acumen, customer focus, and passion for growth
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution skills in cross‑functional environments
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and regional sales organizations
  • Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
