Job Description: Portfolio Analyst

Role Overview
The Portfolio Analyst serves as the central hub for data collection, processing, and analysis, providing the critical insights that drive our Investment Team. In this role, you are much more than a data processor; you are the guardian of data integrity. You will ensure that our collection engine runs with 100% accuracy, proactively liaising with portfolio companies to resolve discrepancies and enabling firm leadership to make strategic decisions based on high-fidelity, real-time insights.

You will act as the financial liaison between portfolio company finance teams, internal investment managers, and the Investor Relations (IR) team. You are responsible for ensuring that all investor-facing materials are underpinned by a robust, automated, and efficient data architecture.

Core Responsibilities
1. Data Collection & Platform Administration
End-to-End Governance: Lead the administration of our reporting platform (Standard Metrics). Manage the full information request lifecycle, ensuring companies receive requests on their respective reporting cadences (Monthly/Quarterly) and submit data by the deadline.

Proactive Engagement: Lead the "chaser" process for lagging reports; communicate directly with portfolio finance teams or Portfolio Managers to understand and resolve causes of delay.

Systems Optimization: Act as the point of contact for system vendors; identify platform bugs or feature gaps and work with their support teams to implement fixes.

Data Integrity & Quality Control: Upon importing financial data, conduct variance analysis to identify material changes. Investigate significant fluctuations with company finance heads and prepare the data for Portfolio Manager (PM) review once validated.

2. Data Intelligence & Master File Management
Data Transformation: Seamlessly transition raw portfolio data into the firm’s Master File to support monthly and quarterly investor updates.

Operational Excellence: Ensure all fund-level and asset-level information is complete and accurate. You are expected to be a "Process Architect," constantly initiating enhancements to the data architecture to improve speed and efficiency.

3. Portfolio Analysis & Narrative Drafting
Valuation Support: Partner with the Investment Team to provide data inputs and comps analysis for the quarterly valuation process.

Quarterly Performance Review (QPR) & Tear Sheets: Lead the production of the Summary of Company Performance and "Tear Sheets" for Quarterly Portfolio Reviews.

The "Fact-Checker": Triangulate data from financial statements, board decks, and investor updates to verify AI-generated operational highlights. You ensure that the qualitative narrative perfectly aligns with the quantitative data, capturing a 360-degree view of company performance.

Narrative Development: Beyond the numbers, you will assist in drafting narratives for Partner Memos and Company Updates. You will help translate quantitative performance into qualitative insights that describe a company’s trajectory, challenges, and milestones.

4. Audit Strategy & Investor Relations
Audit Liaison: Support the annual audit by managing the "Supporting Documents" library. Anticipate auditor queries and prepare "piece-by-piece" evidence batches to ensure a smooth clearing process.

Strategic Compliance: Execute the audit according to the firm’s specific audit strategy, maintaining professional and precise communication with external auditors.

Investor Relations Support: Provide high-speed, ad-hoc data support to the IR team. You must be adaptable, as requests will vary significantly based on specific investor requirements and bespoke data books.
