  • Rafiki, our B2B payments infrastructure, is powering global payments.

Our team includes alumni from Wise, Stripe, Monzo, Revolut, and CashApp — operators who’ve scaled world-class products. We act with urgency, think deeply, and put our customers first always.

At NALA, this isn’t just a job. It’s ownership, impact, and the chance to change global payments forever.

The Role: Your North Star

As a PnL Lead, you will be the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for the regional portfolio's health. You will lead a high-performing team of Growth Managers and  Account Executives to optimise liquidity, manage corridor budgets, and scale revenue through a "Play to Win" mentality.

What You’ll Do:

Portfolio Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end targets for the entire regional portfolio (NALA and Rafiki).
  • Decide on growth channel splits, balancing organic and inorganic strategies to maximise ROI.
  • Review weekly data to track regional health and iterate on revenue drivers.
  • Partner with the Pricing team to establish metrics for individual payout countries.

Consumer (B2C) Growth

  • Set precise budgets and CAC targets for regional corridors based on payback periods.
  • Direct pricing experiments to ensure we stay ahead of the competitive curve.
  • Manage the Growth Manager's performance to drive customer acquisition and retention.

B2B & Operations

  • Build the supply-side team, recruiting specialised talent like FX advisors and chairmen.
  • Own the quality and selection of liquidity trading and payout partners within your region.
  • Suggest daily volume allocations based on FX, post-funding, and commercial relationships.
  • Manage Sales Executive performance to build a robust pipeline for Rafiki sales.

The Ideal Candidate: Who You Are

We are looking for a Driver who thrives under pressure and views every day as a fight for life or death.

  • The Track Record: You have proven experience driving regional portfolio outcomes and managing cross-functional teams (Growth and Sales) in a high-velocity environment.
  • You speak both French and English fluently
  • Theoretical Foundation: You deeply understand unit economics, payback periods, and the intricacies of FX sourcing and payout methods.
  • The Toolbelt: You are proficient in using data tools (like BanzAI or Preset) to ground every decision in hard numbers. You communicate using the "What? So What? Now What?" framework to ensure speed and clarity.
  • Affinity and Expertise: You are knowledgeable and have an existing personal and professional networks across Francophone Africa.

The NALA Principles: How We Win

To succeed here, you must align with our core DNA:

  • Speed Wins: We prioritise moving quickly and learning from mistakes over agonising over details.
  • 4D Execution: Every project you lead must have Data, a Decision, a DRI, and a Deadline.
  • Radical Ownership: We don't wait to be told—we see what needs to be done and make it happen. If you find yourself being "spoon-fed," you're in the wrong place.
  • No Passenger Mentality: You earn your stripes by being a "do-er," not a commentator on the sidelines.

Why Join NALA?

  • Impact: You are building the financial infrastructure for the next billion people.
  • Growth: We offer a culture of constant evolution where you are responsible for your own development—Learn #KilaSiku.

We’re on a mission to increase economic opportunities for Africans across the globe, and we’re keen to hear from capable, ambitious, and creative people who want to help bring this vision to fruition. 🚀 Our first product was a mobile money service in East Africa, which gained over 2,000 customers. Now we’ve set our sights on building a bank for the African diaspora across the globe and our initial focus is on remittances. We’re currently launching an international money transfer service for African living overseas, who send money home to their loved ones. We’re backed by: Balderton Capital, Y- Combinator, Accel Partners, and several incredible fintech angel investors including the founders of Monzo, Comply Advantage, Luno, and Simple.Find us on TechCrunch What we are currently building 🚀 We want to build a bank for the African diaspora globally, initially by starting with a cross-border money transfer service. We believe this is critical to solve to channel economic value back to the African continent. We believe using remittances is one of the best forms of true economic development and we would like to use it as an entry point before building new layers of financial services for the African diaspora. At a starting point we are excited about: Building Remittances 2.0 - we know remittance fees are a race to the bottom and believe the current model has some things that need to be changed. Enabling credit - for senders sending money back to Africa so they don’t have to wait till they get their paycheck at the end of the month. Building infrastructure - enabling payments infrastructure locally in Africa. Building a community of African diaspora helping us build an incredible product together.
