As a PLC Software Engineer, you will join an award-winning organization, including the FD Gazelle Silver Award and the Oryx Prize, recognized as one of the most inspiring companies in the Netherlands. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Process and Software Engineers within your department and report directly to the Manager Engineering HoSt Thermal Technology. As a PLC Software Engineer within Thermal Technology, you will work from the office and on various international project sites (e.g., Latvia, Germany, Poland), depending on the project location and schedule.
You will be responsible for designing and implementing PLC/SCADA controls for combustion plants, covering both programming and commissioning activities.
Furthermore, you will:
Conduct software testing;
Identify and resolve issues related to electrical faults;
Implement software updates in commissioned installations;
Actively participate in engineering team activities focused on process optimization, innovation testing, and software optimization;
Provide software and technical support to service teams operating combustion plants;
Prepare technical specifications, review offers and documents, and coordinate with procurement/suppliers as needed;
Support installation, commissioning, and start-up at project sites abroad;
Coordinate and align with on-site project teams; ensure correct implementation according to design and safety requirements.
Completed education in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, PLC programming, or similar (HBO/WO), or demonstrable relevant work experience in electrical engineering or automation field;
Experience in PLC programming and knowledge of SCADA systems;
Familiarity with Siemens S7 controllers and TIA Portal tools;
Strong command of English, both spoken and written;
Knowlegde of OT security is an advantage;
CV in English is required.
