Department: Technology Reports to: Senior Manager, Platform Engineering Location: North Vancouver, BC - This role is primarily based out of our North Vancouver office, and is open to hybrid remote work Work Arrangement: Flexible, between in-office and home Pay Range: $44,700-$55,100; pay is dependent on year of study and related experience  Duration: Four (4) months, May 4, 2026 - August 21, 2026 Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week, M-F Your Co-Op Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: As a Platform Engineer Co-op, you will design and implement infrastructure solutions, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and optimize platform performance while developing deeper technical expertise. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies, learn from experienced engineers, and make real contributions to systems that support our entire development lifecycle. You’ll need to work well within a team, be eager to learn from others, and be motivated to share your experience and skills. In this role you will learn and/or use the following technologies: ·        Cloud infrastructure using Amazon Web Services (AWS) ·        Software containers using Kubernetes ·        CI/CD pipelines using GitHub ·        Programming and scripting languages using Python, Terraform, bash   Meet Your Future Team: The Platform Engineering team is responsible for the applications and infrastructure that allow Arc’teryx developers to build their applications in an efficient, stable, and secure manner. We work with cross-functional agile squads to build and roll out new capabilities, improve performance, and build self-service tools for our developers to enable creating an amazing online experience for our guests. We focus on cloud infrastructure, containerization, observability, CI/CD, API management, and developer tools. If you were a Platform Engineer Co-Op Student now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
  • Supporting AWS cloud infrastructure operations and helping implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions
  • Contributing to Kubernetes cluster management and learning containerization best practices
  • Assisting with GitHub CI/CD pipeline development and optimization to improve deployment workflows
  • Working with observability tools like Datadog and Grafana to create dashboards and alerts
  • Helping maintain and improve our API management platform
  • Finding workflow efficiencies using agentic AI tools
  • Documenting systems, processes, and runbooks to share knowledge across the team
  • Continuing your professional development, learning new skills and industry practices that can be adapted to meet our needs

  • By the end of your Co-Op placement, you’ll have a solid understanding of Platform Engineering practices. You’ll gain hands-on experience in each area of focus for the team, equipping you with practical skills to support scalable, reliable systems.

  • You are familiar with cloud computing providers, container solutions, and CI/CD pipelines
  • You have experience with IaC and automation using agentic tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude
  • You understand containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • You have experience with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
  • You have knowledge of observability and software operations
  • You have great communication, problem solving, and documentation skills
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
