Platform Delivery Engineer (AppStack)

TLDR

Collaborate globally to build and onboard new customers onto the Vista Cloud platform while enhancing application layers for improved customer experience.

Principal Objectives

Working as part of a global team, the Platform Delivery Engineer (AppStack) role is responsible for building and onboarding new customers onto the Vista Cloud platform. This role is also responsible for maintaining, upgrading and customizing the Application layer for Vista Group’s global Cloud customer base.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding/Migration and Maintenance

  • Deploy and maintain Vista Cloud software using automated pipelines or manual installation when needed.
  • Configure and provision Vista Cloud environments and Azure SQL databases, including migrating on-premises databases.
  • Execute integration scripts, manage Application Registrations, Azure AD secrets, and apply hotfixes for system stability.
  • Upgrade software components, add modules, refresh Sandbox databases, and customize configurations to support business needs.

Customer Support

  • After triaging incidents (e.g., infrastructure or security issues), escalate to 3rd line support and Platform Support, ensuring software issues are resolved.
  • Use SQL Server and SQL queries for problem-solving.
  • Interpret Vista and third-party system (Windows and SQL Server) error logs.
  • Document support calls in Vista’s support systems (Teams, Zendesk, Wrike).
  • Complete Post Incident Reports for Vista Cloud outages as needed.
  • Identify and log product bugs, collaborate with engineering for prompt resolution and positive customer outcomes.
  • Recognize chargeable work and sales opportunities; escalate to Accounts Manager or Business Development.
  • Serve as an escalation point for VMS and Vista Cloud customers during on-call and after-hours support.

Software Development, Training and Consulting

  • Stay updated on Vista Cloud technology, deployment, and operations.
  • Support and train platform teams; serve as escalation for Vista Cloud, VMS, and 3rd party apps like Site24x7, Datadog, Octopus, CloudFlare, Commvault, OpenLens, Auth0, and Azure DevOps.
  • Analyze customer needs to implement Vista Cloud solutions.
  • Pursue Azure/AWS certifications (e.g., AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-400).
  • Manage tools such as Site24x7, Datadog, Azure DevOps, and Octopus effectively.
  • Own project tasks and small-to-medium projects, including workload management and communication.
  • Update timesheets daily.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Operate Azure DevOps for CI/CD deployment of Vista Cloud and assist with data layer migrations.
  • Support SoW scoping, writing, and technical reviews.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and manage project tools like Wrike.
  • Lead, mentor, and train new hires.
  • Assist sales and Client Success Managers in technical pre-sales discussions.
  • Deliver internal presentations and prepare monthly operational reports.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Vista product deployment and configuration.
  • Complete Post Incident Reports for Vista Cloud outages.
  • Recommend process improvements and analyze project deployment trends for efficiency.

 

Requirements

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience in software application support and deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work under pressure with sound judgment.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server and .NET (preferred).
  • Advanced Windows systems skills, including IIS, DNS, DHCP, and Networking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Project management experience and knowledge of Azure DevOps (desirable).
