Delta Solutions & Strategies is seeking a Physicist turned Algorithms Engineer to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will focus on high fidelity physics modeling for Missile Warning training software. Successful candidates should be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities preferred with a Space background and knowledge of the Missile Warning and Missile Defense communities. What you will be doing:
  • Design, implement, and sustain simulation algorithms predicting orbital and suborbital trajectories.
  • Derive and code equations of motion for boost, mid-course, and terminal guidance.
  • Predict modeling of emerging threats as events occur in the missile warning community.
  • Interact with customers to gather requirements and offering creative solutions, writing documentation, presenting project designs, performing user training, and attending requirements meetings.
  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software that contains logical and mathematical solutions.
  • Analyze user requirements.
  • Provide full-spectrum software life cycle: design, develop, implement, and maintain applications on Microsoft Windows-based systems.
  • Perform agile software development in both unclassified and classified environments while utilizing software engineering best practices of unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation.
  • Other tasks as directed 
  • What you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in physics (Masters preferred) or another relevant field.
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Experience with C# .Net (preferred), Java, C++, development in a DoD environment (preferred)
  • Active Secret Clearance preferred (but not required), must be able to obtain TS clearance.
  • Experience or understanding of ITW/AA, Missile Warning, OPIR, UEWR, NDS or MDA ground/sea-based sensors highly preferred.
  • Candidate must have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and work well in a team environment and perform independently 
  • In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this position is $95,000-$130,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Delta Solutions & Strategies considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
