Physical Security Operations Manager

TLDR

Lead the security operations strategies globally, safeguarding critical assets while collaborating with key stakeholders across regions.

Primary Function of Position

Responsible for development, implementation and tactical day-to-day operations of physical security and associated programs in the designated global region as well as global program development.

This position will develop and lead efforts to safeguard the company’s critical assets – employees, facilities, operations, and reputation –across the region. They will work cross functionally to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to security operations and emergency management.  Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders across the region will be a priority. Establish and manage global security programs.  Additionally, this position plays a critical role in establishing the Security Operations strategies globally.

Essential Job Duties

Enterprise Security Management: 

  • Maintain and audit against the company's policies and standards for the protection of Intuitive facilities. Direct site security and advise site leaders in implementing policies, standards, and systems. Areas covered may include perimeter security, parking management, lighting and security signage, video management system/analytics, access controls, intrusion detection alarms, and guard force operations.  
  • Research and deploy innovative security management techniques, tools, and services to facilitate the effectiveness of security programs. Provide timely incident status, notifications, metrics, invoice reviews, and other critical reports as requested or required to foster greater organizational clarity and response. 
  • Direct security programs through the oversight of a governance framework and maintain coordination with stakeholders to ensure program compliance, consistent application, and alignment with industry standards. 
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, including executive leadership, functional business areas, and site leadership. 
  • Cultivate and maintain liaison with relevant external entities, such as government and law enforcement agencies, industry bodies, regulatory agencies, and private sector counterparts. 
  • Develop adherence strategies related for processes and policies, working with Finance/Purchasing/Legal as appropriate. Create process documents, SOPs, and work instructions as required. 
  • Develop and perform analysis, planning, performance measures (i.e., Key Performance Indicators) and provides direction to ensure the security program is delivering maximum value to all internal customers, partners, and stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with Intuitive Real Estate and Construction Project Management teams to assess risk of potential Intuitive office locations and building designs in your region.  Work collaboratively with the Security Systems team. 
  • Coordinate design and installation of security access control and surveillance systems in new construction and facility improvements. 

Global Program Management:

  • Oversees one or multiple projects at any given time, provides guidance for strategic development, implementation and tactical day-to-day operations. Collaborates with business stakeholders (internal and external) to understand program requirements, problem solve, and develop compatible synergies throughout the enterprise, including and not limited to: 
  • Programs: 
    • Global Emergency Management
    • Global Executive Protection
    • Global Event Security 
    • Global Guard Force 
    • Global Supply Systems Security 
    • Global Facilities Security and Facilities Security Regulations 
      • CTPAT, OEA, etc. 
      • Training and Development Standards 
      • Compliance and Industry Standards. All programs must have playbooks, plans, or standard operating procedures, and must be aligned to industry standards, and/or best practices. Align security program strategy with Intuitive’s footprint, risk exposure, risk tolerance, organizational requirements, and business priorities, as well as best practices, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations. 
      • Purchase orders and budget. Manage budget and associated contracts, resources, and workforce. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through cost reduction and performance improvement, involving suppliers as required. 
      • Training and Awareness. Liaise with other company functions to facilitate security awareness and help inculcate a proactive security culture in the company.  Coordinate and host training for program related awareness or where appropriate. 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned. 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years’ experience as a people leader/manager in the physical security profession or similar related professions law enforcement, etc.
  • 10+ years’ experience with managing, developing and initiating programs
  • 5+ years in program development/management

Required Education and Training

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or 8 years of experience in the security operations field with at least 3 of those years in a managerial position

Working Conditions

                Up to 35% of time will be spent traveling

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience in special event security and management
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of software tools, including Microsoft suite, SmartSheets, OneNote, etc.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
