PHP Software Engineer

We are searching for a mid-level PHP Engineer to join our TalentLMS team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in PHP development, as well as clear understanding of web development best practices. They will be responsible for working closely with fellow developers, as well as our product and design teams to ensure that our applications are both functional and user-friendly.

Responsibilities

As a mid PHP Engineer, you will:

• Work together with fellow backend, frontend, DevOps and QA engineers, as well as product managers and designers.
• Translate user stories into well-structured, tested backend code and API endpoints.
• Write clean, maintainable PHP code using modern practices and tools.
• Participate in code reviews and take feedback constructively to improve your work.
• Support refactoring efforts and contribute to improving system performance and maintainability.

Requirements

To be successful in this role as a mid PHP Engineer, you should have:

• 2–5 years of experience in PHP development (PHP 8.0+ is a plus).
• Strong analytical skills and background in algorithms and data structures.
• Strong understanding of web development and database best practices.
• Familiarity with Unit testing - TDD is a plus.
• Familiarity with designing and consuming modern APIs.
• Familiarity with working on high-volume/high-traffic web applications.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools and best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS will be considered a plus.
  

Equally important, you are a kind, dedicated and helpful person and you appreciate working with people who share the same qualities. You also have a degree in software engineering or can justify why you don’t need one.
