Your start in the Tech & Engineering team at ESN & More!

As a PHP Engineer (gn), you will be part of our engineering team, contributing to a modern, fully event-driven composable commerce architecture. You will work with a state-of-the-art tech stack including PHP 8, the Symfony framework and the AWS ecosystem, and help us build scalable, high-performance services for our ESN & More Nutrition brands. If you love clean code, solid architectures and want to have real impact in a fast-growing D2C environment – this role is for you.

Your mission

• You continuously optimize and enhance our software using modern methods and architectures
• You design and implement software solutions and microservices in close collaboration with Product and other business stakeholders
• You implement and maintain event-driven and asynchronous workflows using AWS services (e.g. SNS, SQS, EventBridge, Lambda)
• You collaborate closely with your interdisciplinary team and the Product Owner to deliver high-quality features end to end
• You contribute to code quality through peer reviews, testing and clean architecture principles
• You actively drive technical decisions within the team and share your knowledge to support the growth of others  

Your experience & skills 

• You have a degree in computer science, training in software development or a comparable qualification
• You have several years of hands-on experience in software development with excellent PHP skills and experience with Symfony or Laravel
• You have solid knowledge of microservices architectures and asynchronous programming in an event-driven environment
• You are familiar with API design and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure-as-Code such as Terraform)
• You have practical experience with AWS (e.g. Lambda, SNS, SQS, EventBridge, EC2) and container technologies such as Docker
• You ideally bring experience with additional programming languages and/or an e-commerce background
• You have hands-on experience with AI technologies and are enthusiastic about applying AI in real-world use cases
• You have on-call availability and willingness to travel for tech days when needed
• You work in an agile way (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and are used to methods like peer reviews and retrospectives
• You have excellent English skills, both written and spoken; German skills are a plus
