Job Overview

We are currently seeking a committed and skilled Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist day school in Vauxhall, London, catering to children and young people aged 5 to 17 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with a particular focus on social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to work within a therapeutic and educational setting, where your expertise will contribute to a seamless model of care and support for pupils with complex needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver tailored speech and language therapy interventions to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support therapeutic learning environments.
  • Contribute to assessments, care planning, and progress reviews.
  • Provide training and guidance to educational staff to ensure consistent, clinically informed support.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to service improvement.

 

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Have experience working with children and young people with complex needs, particularly SEMH.
  • Be confident in delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting staff teams.
  • Be proactive, organised, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Be an effective communicator and clinical role model.
