Role

As a Performance Application Engineer, you will own the process performance and optimization of our automation solutions. You will lead the definition and execution of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and human-in-the-loop (HITL) testing to ensure systems meet rigorous cycle time and reliability standards. 

How your work moves the mission forward

  • Own end-to-end process improvement and cycle time optimization for robotic cells.
  • Define and drive the strategy for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Define test blueprints for Intelligent Factory (IF) Cell and Line Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) tests.
  • Actively perform and oversee HITL tests to validate system performance prior to deployment.

Skills you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical background in Robotics Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Foundational understanding of industrial automation with a strong desire to learn, and contribute to their application in manufacturing environments.
  • Programming proficiency with C++ and/or Python.
  • Experience with data visualization tools or performance monitoring dashboards to communicate process health to stakeholders.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal cross-functional teams and external technical partners during deployment and support.

Skills that will differentiate your candidacy

  • Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with simulation-to-reality (Sim2Real) gap analysis to predict performance before hardware is live.
  • Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf, Bazel, microservice architectures, and/or real-time systems.

$163,800$178,500 USD
