iCapital is seeking an Associate People Partner to help support our continued expansion across the EMEA region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of large-scale growth objectives as we expand the company’s workforce in EMEA and further enhance our global HR function.

The successful candidate will serve as one of the first points of contact in EMEA throughout employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding, employee experience and engagement, employee relations and total rewards. This role will seek to deliver an exceptional employee experience and will be a trusted partner to our stakeholders. 

We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating globally, passionate about HR, and able to navigate through ambiguity while aligning HR processes with business objectives. The ideal candidate  is empathic and people‑oriented and excels at building strong relationships .  In addition to People Partner responsibilities, this role contributes to operational excellence through day‑to‑day HR Operations support, including coordinating payroll activities in partnership with our central teams. Regional experience working effectively with global headquarters is essential. This role will be based in Lisbon and will report to the Vice President, People Partner, who supports our EMEA team. The position may require travel to other countries, as necessary. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide support on HR services, such as performance reviews, employee engagement, employee relations, data analytics and DEI activities.
  • Support managers and employees to drive alignment with company policy, best practice, and current legislation.
  • Act as the liaison between employees and the Benefit team.
  • Coordinate with immigration counsel to ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate employee records and managing work permits and visas.
  • Keep abreast of in-country regulations and trends pertaining to EMEA employment matters, partnering with legal counsel where appropriate.   
  • Work closely with the finance and payroll teams to manage external payroll providers.
  • Contribute to the implementation of HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion programs, and employer branding campaigns 

 

Qualifications 

  • +4  years’ experience in Human Resources as Business Partner; HR knowledge such as total reward, payroll and/or employee relations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of EMEA labor law and regulations.
  • Understanding of talent market in Finance, and/or Fintech spaces.
  • Hands-on mentality and the desire to constantly learn and grow.
  • Experience working for a global and matrixed organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills across all levels and an understanding of when to raise issues.
  • Passion for customer service and creating an amazing experience for every employee.
  • Demonstrate high degree of professionalism and ethics.
  • Experience with end-to-end management of employee data and manual spreadsheet, ensuring data integrity is maintained.
  • Proven ability to drive things through completion, be proactive and pragmatic.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicant tracking systems, compensation planning systems, and MS office tools (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Fluency in English required– both written and verbal.
  • Able to travel as required
