Job Summary

Versa Networks is seeking a detail-oriented and employee-focused People Operations Coordinator to support core HR operations and deliver an exceptional onboarding and employee experience during their tenure at Versa. This role is ideal for an HR professional with 3 to 5 years of experience who can work in a fast-paced environment, and who enjoys hands-on execution, process ownership, and working closely with employees across their lifecycle.

The People Operations Coordinator will play a key role in onboarding new hires, coordinating background checks, managing visa transfers and related processes, IT onboarding, employee orientation and ensuring a smooth and welcoming Day One experience. This individual will work cross functionally with our Manager of Payroll & Benefits to communicate details of our benefits and 401(k) programs, and employee ADP usage. This role is based in our Santa Clara office, and will report to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition & People Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Onboarding & New Hire Experience
    • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process after offer acceptance, ensuring a seamless and positive new hire experience
    • Coordinate background checks, employment eligibility verification, and new hire documentation
    • Lead Day One onboarding sessions and ensure new hires are set up with systems, tools, and resources
    • Partner with Hiring Managers, IT, and Facilities to ensure timely employee setup
  • Benefits & 401(k)
    • Partner with the Manager of Payroll and Benefits and serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and support
    • Coordinate open enrollment activities and communicate benefits information to employees
    • Collaborate cross functionally to administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k) enrollment
    • Work with benefits brokers and vendors to resolve issues and maintain accurate records
  • HR Operations & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity
    • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including California requirements
    • Assist with audits, reporting, and HR documentation as needed
    • Support offboarding processes, including benefits transitions and system access coordination
    • Act as a alternate/back-up for processing regular payroll
  • Employee Support & People Programs
    • Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits, and processes
    • Support employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and HR programs
    • Assist with HR projects and process improvements as the organization scales
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience with onboarding, and benefits administration
  • Experience with ADP for payroll
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
  • Employee-first mindset with strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in a technology or high-growth environment
    • Familiarity with benefits platforms
    • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range of $75,000 to $100,000. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
