People & Culture Generalist

TLDR

Be a crucial part of the HR team by leading onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and maintaining smooth HR operations while fostering a supportive workplace culture.

At Epignosis our mission is simple yet bold: To make learning technologies accessible to every business, regardless of geography, sector, or company size. And we’ve been doing just that for more than a decade, empowering millions of people to grow, learn, and thrive through technology that’s both powerful and affordable.

We're rapidly becoming one of Greece's largest SaaS companies, serving 12,000+ companies and 22+ million learners worldwide with solutions like TalentLMS (an award-winning cloud LMS built for simplicity), eFront (an enterprise LMS), TalentCards (a mobile app for deskless training), and TalentHR (a lightweight HRIS for people operations).

Our success is built on a team that believes that work should matter — not only to you, but to the world around you. We're looking for people who light up when solving hard problems, who care deeply about their craft, and who want to build something that genuinely helps people grow.

We're looking for a People & Culture Generalist to join our HR team in Athens and be a key part of the day-to-day people experience at Epignosis. This is a hands-on, broad-scope role: you'll own onboarding, support employee engagement and wellbeing, keep our HR systems running smoothly, and be a trusted point of contact for our people across the organization.

If you're someone who brings rigour to the operational side of HR and genuine warmth to the human side, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

As a People & Culture Generalist, you will be responsible of:

  • Employee Onboarding: Lead and own onboarding activities end-to-end (HRIS setup, documentation, and new hire orientation) to ensure every new employee starts strong.
  • Employee Engagement & Wellbeing: Lead and own initiatives that promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging work environment, including team-building activities, company events, recognition programmes, employee wellbeing check-ins, and CSR activities.
  • Performance Support: Facilitate performance review processes in collaboration with managers and L&D, including feedback delivery and employee growth plans.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted point of contact for employee enquiries, addressing concerns, providing guidance on sensitive cases, and helping to resolve workplace issues in a fair and confidential manner.
  • People Ops Team Leadership: Manage and develop the People Ops Administrator, providing day-to-day guidance, task ownership, and coaching to ensure smooth HR operations delivery.
  • HR Administration: In collaboration with the People Ops Administrator, maintain accurate employee records, keep HR systems up to date, and ensure data integrity. Prepare reports and assist with HR metrics as needed.
  • Policy & Compliance Support: Communicate HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks, ensuring alignment with applicable labour laws. Advise on policies, contracts, and people-related queries, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Offboarding: Lead and own offboarding activities to ensure smooth transitions for departing employees.

Requirements

To be successful in this role as a People & Culture Generalist, you should have:

  • 3+ years of proven experience in the HR field.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS; experience with BambooHR is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of employment policies and HR best practices. Experience in leading CSR activities is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with Greek labour law and local employment regulations; familiarity with international labour laws is a plus.
  • Experience managing or mentoring others is a plus – comfort in providing direction, feedback, and day-to-day guidance to junior team members will set you up for success in this role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across all levels of the organisation.
  • A collaborative, proactive, empathetic, and solution-oriented approach to your work.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
