TLDR

Drive performance and engagement within the Customer and Sales teams using AI-driven insights while partnering closely with executive leadership.

About Karbon

Karbon is the global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms. We provide an award-winning cloud platform that helps tens of thousands of accounting professionals work more efficiently and collaboratively every day. With customers in 40 countries, we have grown into a globally distributed team across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, growing rapidly, and have a people-first culture that is recognized with Great Place To Work® certification and on Fortune magazine's Best Small Workplaces™ List.

Our People team is a high-performing group, deeply committed to our Karbonites and values. We are looking for a true partner who is commercially sharp, proactively curious, and fluent in both the people discipline and the AI tools redefining how great HR professionals work. Reporting to the VP of People, this role’s main client group includes our Customer and Sales teams, with the unique opportunity to partner with executive leaders to drive performance, engagement, and provide real business insights.

We are looking for someone unique. You’re the right HR partner for us if you walk into every leader conversation already knowing the business context, GDR, NDR, churn, pipeline health, quota attainment etc., and you'll bring people insights that leaders haven't or don’t even know to ask for yet. You’re highly AI-centric and use AI agents and agentic workflows as a natural extension of how you work, not as an experiment, and you're excited about what that means for the future of the people function and the teams you support.

This is not just a case management role. You'll spend as much time anticipating the challenges as solving them, and you'll be as comfortable challenging a VP's org design decision as handling a complex ER matter, and just as comfortable deploying an AI agent to synthesize engagement data as facilitating a critical performance conversation.

About the Role

  • Partner proactively and deeply with senior leaders across Customer and Sales, understanding their commercial model, team dynamics, and company metrics well enough to shape the people agenda without being prompted.
  • Actively use AI tools and agentic workflows to surface insights, automate routine work, and elevate the quality of everything you deliver, from data analysis and trends reporting to preparing for leader conversations and running project workstreams.
  • Use AI to effectively report and manage complex employment relations cases with ease and simplicity, while coaching, guiding, and empowering leaders to own them end-to-end.
  • Review and stay current on various reporting for your client groups, understanding the metrics that matter at a level that you can connect to the people strategy.
  • Challenge leaders constructively, balancing strong support with the willingness to push back on decisions that carry people or business risk, using data and AI-generated insights to back your position.
  • Leverage people data and analytics to build narratives that drive leadership alignment, you use AI to go deeper and faster, and you bring insights to the table, not just reports.
  • Own and drive HR project management across your client groups, keeping initiatives structured, on track, and delivered to a high standard, with AI embedded in how you manage and execute.
  • Build trusted, high-quality relationships with VP and C-suite level stakeholders, showing up as a peer to the business, not a support function.
  • Be a change agent for people programs, influencing without authority and driving adoption with credibility and evidence.
  • Partner closely with People Ops, TA, and L&D to deliver a seamless employee experience across the full lifecycle.
  • Contribute to global People initiatives across Karbon's six operating regions.

About You!

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including some business partnering, and at a minimum, a strong generalist background.
  • Prior SaaS or high-growth tech experience is essential. You understand how a GTM organization operates, what drives CS and Sales performance, and how to speak the language of revenue.
  • Genuine GTM domain fluency — you have a baseline knowledge of key metrics relevant to a Customer and Sales org i.e. GDR, NDR, churn, pipeline coverage, and quota attainment, and you use them naturally in people conversations.
  • A proactive partnering instinct is essential; you don't wait to be asked. You review data, attend business reviews, and bring people insights before leaders know they need them.
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility at a senior level — you show up as a peer, not a support function.
  • Proven ability to challenge leaders constructively — you're trusted precisely because you'll push back when it matters, not just validate.
  • Data fluency — you build compelling narratives from people data, increasingly powered by AI, that influence strategic decisions.
  • Hands-on fluency with AI tools and agentic workflows — you actively use them every day to improve your output, automate repetitive work, and move faster. This isn't aspirational; it's how we already operate. You should too.
  • Strong working knowledge of US employment law and HR compliance. Multi-state experience highly valued.
  • A project driver: known for delivering results across multiple initiatives simultaneously without close supervision.
  • Experience coaching senior leaders through org design decisions, workforce planning, and the strategic and human implications of building AI-augmented teams.
  • Unquestioned integrity, high EQ, and personal maturity — you handle sensitive situations with compassion and discretion.
  • Genuine curiosity about where AI is taking the future of work, and an appetite to be at the front of that curve, not catching up to it.
